With so many of us working from home as a result of the COVID epidemic, many of us feel that any time we aren't doing something else, we should be working! Hard work keeps us ahead and will get us through this difficult time. But, there are many struggling to get into the Holiday Spirit and we have all been overwhelmed with challenges, uncertainty and change. So, while I always support hard work, my blog advice this week is to take the holiday and use it to relax, recharge and renew your spirit.
Step away from the computer, put away the cell phone and turn off the news. Cherish time with your family. If you are alone, reach out by phone, zoom or meet your neighbors in the back yard but make a connection. Take stock of where you are and what is most important to you moving into next year. Congratulate yourself for getting through an historically difficult time and begin to make plans for how to succeed in the months to come.
Starting a new business has been exciting, exhilarating, terrifying and fun. Something I have always wanted to do, I look forward to the weeks ahead as things turn around. I have cherished the connections I have made over my career that are making this possible. I am grateful for my colleagues, candidates and customers - those I have known for a long time and for those I have yet to meet. This Christmas will be different and we will all miss people and traditions we once may have taken for granted. Something I promise never to do. So, from my family and Claremont Services Group, we wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!
